Ready to make a tangible global impact while exploring the breathtaking landscapes of South America? Join us for an unforgettable service-learning trip to Ecuador! This immersive journey offers a rare, hands-on opportunity to step inside the , a vital free clinic. Here, you’ll get to spend time with the Ecuadorian people in a truly unique setting, observing rehabilitation practices and providing direct services alongside local professionals.
Your impact extends far beyond the clinic walls. You will also visit and volunteer at a local school and a senior center. Throughout the trip, you’ll dive deep into Ecuador’s health system, explore its rich history, and spend transformative time learning directly from indigenous communities.

- Your Out-Of-Pocket Cost After Elevate Credit has been Applied (Valued at $2,800 for eligible undergraduate students): $300

- Eligibility: College of Health Graduate Student, ability to walk several miles per day (short hikes, walking from lodging to clinic). Undergraduate health science, public health or Spanish (heritage or health providers). Undergraduates must interview with team leaders.

- Language: English; Spanish helpful but not required
TENTATIVE Itinerary
All the landmarks mentioned in this itinerary will be visited. Some changes may be made in the order they will be visited depending upon the weather.
Day 1: Fly from the US to Quito - your South American adventure begins now!
Day 2: Explore UNESCO-listed Historic Quito and stand on top of the world at the Equator.
Day 3: Journey to Ibarra and take a boat ride across a stunning volcanic crater lake.
Day 4: Dive into hands-on clinical practice at the Crecer clinic.
Day 5: More clinic magic — plus senior center visits and a live prosthetics and positioning demo.
Day 6: Discover the incredible community programs at Totora Wasi and Peguche Wasi.
Day 7: Back at Crecer — sharpen your clinical skills in a real-world setting.
Day 8: Final clinic day, then explore the charming local sights of Ibarra.
Day 9: Fly home transformed with skills, stories, and memories that last a lifetime!
